have raw cake and eat it

A piece of fabric that goes over one shoulder and around the opposite hip/waist. Adjustable by use of 2 sling rings. Most Ring Slings favoured by Babywearers have open tails, which allow much more adjustability and support for the baby.

Pros:

    * Good for quick trips

    * Excellent for discreet nursing and quick adjustment

    * Versatile – can be used for newborn cradle carry, upright carry, hip carry – good with toddlers

    * Adjustable – can be used by parents/caretakers of different sizes

    * Can fold up very small

Cons:

    * Weight distributed to only one shoulder – not as comfortable for a heavier baby/toddler

    * Some learning curve, must get used to adjusting fabric through the rings

My views and recommendations:

I have found Ring Slings to be essential for all stages of babywearing. I found them great for breastfeeding a newborn, shopping with an older baby and fantastic now for my up and down toddler. I'd always need a two shouldered carrier as well as a Ring Sling though.
