My children usually only take a few sips of my green smoothies unless I put loads of carob in them. Inspired by ‘Green For Life’ by Victoria Boutenko I thought I would have a go and see if I could make one delicious enough that they might drink a whole glass. It worked! I had a look at the fruit in my fridge and I did not have quite the right ingredients to make any of her fantastic smoothies so I thought I would create my own. The result, which I have called Sweet Fruit Lettuce Smoothie was a fresh, sweet, fruity smoothie which my kids loved so much that they both wanted their glass topped up when they had finished. Even more importantly, it had lots of lettuce in. All of those greens broken up into an easily assimilated form will be great for their health! I did not put any spirulina in theirs - I just added some to mine afterwards. I am feeling so energised with all of these greens. We all ate Chia Chocolate Pudding for lunch yesterday and it sustained us for the whole afternoon until dinnertime.
Green smoothie that kids love!
