have raw cake and eat it

We love using golden linseeds in our dehydrated cracker recipes. When ground they produce a fine flour which binds ingredients such as blended vegetables very well to make a doughy consistency.

Linseed is also known as flaxseed, and has been consumed for thousands of years. It is a source of Omega 3, which is vital for normal body functions such as renewal of cells, balancing hormones, repairing muscles and tissue and many other essential processes in the body. Omega 3 is referred to as an ‘essential’ fatty acid as it must be ingested in food directly as the body cannot synthesise it from other foods.

Linseeds are chemically stable while whole, and milled flaxseed can be stored at least 4 months at room temperature with minimal or no changes in taste, smell, or chemical markers of rancidity. Ground linseed can go rancid at room temperature in as little as one week. Refrigeration and storage in sealed containers will keep ground flax from becoming rancid for even longer.
