The Purity of Diamond Rings and the Food You Eat

There is probably nothing in the world that represents natural purity more than a beautiful diamond. It shines brilliantly, reflecting any light that hits it and illuminating anywhere it may be worn. Formed over millions of years as a result of extreme pressure and heat deep in the earth they are then brought to the surface or near to it in the magma of volcanoes. They are the hardest of all the precious gems and can even cut glass so industrial grade stones have a wide variety of uses. Natural foods are also something that people in the know understand can vastly improve your life with better health and enhanced self image by eliminating toxic chemicals that have become all too common in commercially produced foods. People love diamond rings because they reflect that natural strength of their creation and they love organic foods for the physical and mental strength they naturally provide those that eat them.

These cherished stones have a long history of desirability and the adventure that goes with it. Almost every ancient civilization valued these stones and there have been myths and traditions built around their power and the curses that can accompany them. Perhaps the most famous is the tale around what is now called the Hope Diamond which is the largest blue diamond in history. This stone supposedly was originally 112 carats and came from a mine in India. It was sold in 1668 to the king of France, Louis XIV along with several diamond rings and other gems. The royal jeweller cut it down to 67 carats and it was then called the French Blue. It passed down to his grandson Louis XVI who with his wife Marie Antoinette was beheaded soon after which the stone disappeared. The stone re-emerged cut even smaller in 1812 when it was acquired by British King George IV and by the time he died in 1830 he was broke and the stone gone.

After nine years the stone was listed as the possession of Henry Philip Hope when he died and it is from him it gets its present name. The next few owners all either died suddenly or went broke and had to sell the Hope Diamond and other diamond rings to stay out of debt. They probably were more victims of eating poorly than of a curse since the wealthy of those days tended to eat excessively rich and fatty foods.
