The Importance of Ski Jackets and Pre-Trip Nutrition

Any athlete and their trainer will tell how important it is to eat right, train and condition all your muscles before you work out, that's a no brainier right? So why do so many weekend warriors cut so many corners before their embrace of the great outdoors. How many times have you woken up the day after a big workout feeling like you cannot even summon the courage to get out of bed and the first thing you want is a hot bath for the aching muscles. Well all the aches and pains could have been avoided with a little foresight and planning.

Before you, your family and your friends hit the slopes this winter season with your new skis, boots and fashionable ski jackets, make sure to eat healthy starting a week before the trip to give your muscles the energy they need, this can include many raw foods, like nuts, fruits and vegetables. Your muscles will thank you for it. Most important though is to make sure that you have a quality ski jacket, one manufactured from the finest, tough but lightweight materials. A good ski jacket should also keep you dry in rain, sleet and snow and come with a detachable hood and snow skirt, nothing worse than getting snow inside your ski jacket. Now that could ruin the whole day. The other thing that can ruin your day is running out of energy on the mountain, so stay well hydrated and make sure to have some healthy treats on the mountain with you.
